If you're looking for fancy ammenities, and such this isn't the place, but If you're looking for a clean, friendly, quiet comfortable place too get away, this is perfect
My parents also stayed there the same weekend, and said the owners son was there when they arrived, and helped them find a nice place to hang out and eat.
We got there, the hotel was very clean, quaint, and just wonderful.
This was HORRIBLE!!! I called and made a reservation over the phone 4 months in advance. The owner gave me the room number and the type of room (beds) and took my information. Upon arrival the owner couldn't seem to hear or see very well. She kept saying she didn't see our reservation. I had to point out our name and number that was written in her reservation book. She then told us she didn't have any rooms and we had no place to stay. She then said she'd call us if there was a cancellation but then changed that to ... Oh I already have a wait list ...remember I made this reservation 4 months in advance! She overbooked her motel. According to the locals this is a regular habit of this owner. We had to scramble for a place to stay for two nights! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MOTEL! Can't say how the rooms are we never made it past a very elderly hard hearing poor sighted owner with Alzheimer's ... Sad...NEVER AGAIN!

I had no cell service out here, didn't realize until the evening of our last night they had free WiFi and it was definitely for the best. My family and I had a great time enjoying each other's company.
I stay about two weeks every year, always very clean and helpful people ,great community to visit. Rebooking again this year!!!!
Longton is about 20 minutes from independence, and Howard. But apparently is a popular stay place for hunters as they have a decent population of white tail deer (I think that's what they're called).
Went down for Neewollah festival. At first I had a hard time getting a hold of them to make a reservations, but I did. When I checked in, I realized it was one very sweet elderly lady running the hotel, and she probably didn't move as quick as my patience would allow.
1200 per month for a run down motel room I think not they are just greedy better places in independence for less money
